Dyraarde and the Feoaidyr

King Garin's Tomb Part 2

We left off with the party in what seemed to be some sort of operating room, or potentially a place to prepare the dead. Though covered in dust, the room gave the impression of being clean. There were four patient beds, draped in a white cloth that at one point looked clean enough for surgery. Over each bed was a low hanging sconce with a bottom opening to direct light to the table. Small rolling tables were scattered through the room, each with a tray of various equipment: scalpels, wrapping linens, and bottles, some with liquid and some without. On the far end of the room is a conspicuous red stain.

Tathalion, still tripping balls from the mushrooms in the previous room, believed that the tables were spooky ghosts. He also believed the conspicuous red stain was ectoplasmic jelly, and proceeded to scrape some off the ground to put in his mouth. Realizing that Tathalion would probably get himself in trouble, Dyzek Kaj made him sit on one of the surgical tables after convincing Tathalion that the tables were not ghosts. Kyra collected a few potions that would stop bleeding wounds from a medicine cabinet in the room. Carak was struggling to not go back and get some of the mushrooms from the previous room. To cope, he smoked some nip.

Before moving on to the next room, Dyzek knocked on the door. When he knocked, some zombies ambled in from the direction they came. After taking care of the zombies, the went out the door and found themselves in a hallway. Down the hallway they saw a door to their right, a hall to their right, a hall to their left, and a staircase in front of them. They decided to go into the first door on their right.

Through the door they were faced with stairs that led up to a dirt platform. The walls here were not made as carefully as the rest and the stone seems to have been thrown together as opposed to carefully laid out. There were simple stone coffins lining the room, some closed and some with lids ajar. A door lies at the opposite end of the room.

16 (started to get suspicious, tathalion fills all coffins with acid)- Stairs lead down to a dirt platform. The walls here are not made as carefully as the rest and the stone seems to have been thrown together as opposed to carefully laid out. There are simple stone coffins lining the room, some closed and some with lids ajar. A door lies at the opposite end of the room.

17 (getting frustrated, try to blaze through but tathalion persuades)- Stairs lead down to a dirt platform. The walls here are not made as carefully as the rest and the stone seems to have been thrown together as opposed to carefully laid out. There are simple stone coffins lining the room, some closed and some with lids ajar. A door lies at the opposite end of the room.

18 (run through this room) – Stairs lead up to a dirt platform. The walls here are not made as carefully as the rest and the stone seems to have been thrown together as opposed to carefully laid out. There are simple stone coffins lining the room, some closed and some with lids ajar. A door lies at the opposite end of the room.

19 (run through this room)- Stairs lead up to a dirt platform. The walls here are not made as carefully as the rest and the stone seems to have been thrown together as opposed to carefully laid out. 20 (jump over rail, frustrated) – Stairs lead down to a dirt platform. The walls here are not made as carefully as the rest and the stone seems to have been thrown together as opposed to carefully laid out. There are simple stone coffins lining the room, some closed and some with lids ajar. At the opposite end of the room, there is a small railing that comes to about knee height. When you look down, you see a room with a similar layout to the one where you started seeing all of the stone coffins.

11 – A room encapsulated by two locked doors. There are end tables inset into the wall, and on each rest some semi-precious stones. In the middle of the room there is a decaying bed (with a conspicuous number of stains). One wall above a table is a strange, shiny black, that gives you the feeling like you are being watched. Dyzek tries to break the mirror. Tathalion sets the bed on fire.

9 – A long hallway stands in front of you. There is a locked door on the right side of the hallway, and a tall staircares is at the end. At the top of the staircase you come to a room that looks like it used to be an art gallery of sorts. There is a mosaic mural on the wall that has lost a fair amount of detail. There is a wide, ragged chasm in the middle of the room, and the sides slope downwards, making it treacherous to stand near the edge. You can see that there is a hidden door across the chasm. On close inspection it looks like it was shaken, causing tiles to fall off and creating the chasm. On a good roll, they can discern that the mural is a story about Garin, his wife, and his mistress. It does not portray the story in good light. Takes them a while to cross. Carak jumps with rope around waist. Acts as anchor, Tathalion summons pylon on the other side. Create a thin rope bridge that allows all characters to cross. Tathalion almost fell but they caught him. The entire time the room smelt of strawberries, there were sparks coming from the hidden door, and there were spooky ghost noises.

10 – Went through the door and found a nondescript platform coated in a soft peat. When you look over the edge of the platform you see (see 13)

13 – the room is designed like a royal bedchamber. There are two grand canopy beds with rigid corner posts, topping out in around 12’ tall. The left and right halves of the room are mirror images of each other. Each as a boudoir, a dresser, a vanity, a mirror, and an elegantly carved wash basin. The only difference is one half of the room has an inset with a carved marble casket, while the other half does not. As you enter, you hear wailing, as if a woman has just had her heart broken. In fact, it sounds like two women have had their hearts broken…roll for initiative. fought the wraiths, Tathalion made one small and Kyra bound it with magical vines. Killed both. Looted the room. Desecrated the graves.

Took a long rest, ate, looked at their magic items. Tathalion no longer tripping.

To be continued….
